About the role

Introduction

A banking group is seeking a Capital Management Analyst to support capital adequacy, efficient balance sheet utilisation and shareholder returns across its regional subsidiaries. Working with Treasury, Finance and Risk teams, you will turn financial analysis into clear recommendations for capital planning and decision-making.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review and challenge subsidiary capital plans, consolidate monthly actuals and forecasts, and monitor capital utilisation, returns and variances against approved targets, limits and risk appetite.

  • Produce accurate management information, dashboards and reports for treasury, risk and capital governance forums; escalate emerging risks and recommend corrective action.

  • Support regulatory and internal capital adequacy requirements, assess capital excesses and inefficient deployment, and partner with country asset and liability committees (ALCOs).

  • Review Single Borrower Limit (SBL) excess requests against policy, risk appetite and regulatory expectations, and analyse foreign currency risks affecting capital positions.

  • Facilitate review and challenge of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP), annual stress testing and capital buffer-setting activities.

  • Coordinate dividend policy compliance, payment timelines, approvals and cash flows, including related hedging requirements; assess surplus capital retention and support recapitalisations through capital instruments and equity injections.

  • Analyse return on equity, capital efficiency and balance sheet optimisation opportunities, supported by peer benchmarking.

  • Coordinate Cost of Equity (CoE) setting at least semi-annually, align with group governance and assess subsidiary returns against hurdle rates and capital allocation objectives.

  • Partner with regulatory reporting teams on submissions, reconciliations and sign-offs, including BA610 capital reporting, and maintain consistency with management reports and capital plans.

  • Build effective stakeholder relationships, strengthen capital management discipline and continuously improve frameworks, methodologies and reporting capabilities.

Experience Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in banking, treasury, capital management, finance or regulatory reporting.

  • Strong understanding of Basel capital frameworks, including Basel III and IV, and banking regulations.

  • Experience in management reporting, forecasting and financial and quantitative analysis, with knowledge of treasury, balance sheet management, banking operating structures, capital allocation and financial resource management.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and management information tools, with strong data analytics and reporting capability.

  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders and governance committees, supported by advanced writing, presentation, influencing and relationship-management skills.

  • Strong planning, organisation, analytical problem-solving, attention to detail and commercial acumen, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.

  • A postgraduate qualification in Finance, Treasury, Risk Management or a related field is preferred.
