About the role
Introduction
A project delivery organisation is seeking two Quantity Surveyors to support a major semiconductor fabrication facility construction project in Malta, New York. These on-site contract roles cover commercial management, cost control, procurement and contract administration across technically complex construction packages.
Role Responsibilities
Manage cost plans, budgets, forecasts, commitments, cost-to-complete assessments and commercial reporting.
Review contractor pricing, estimates and proposals; identify scope gaps and commercial risks.
Support tender packages, bid analysis, commercial negotiations and award recommendations.
Administer construction contracts, payment applications, change orders and claims through final account and closeout.
Validate labour, material, equipment and subcontractor costs and negotiate commercial issues.
Work with engineering, construction, procurement, project controls and finance teams across MEP, process-utility, cleanroom and other construction packages.
Experience Requirements
Strong quantity surveying, cost management or construction commercial management capability, including procurement-to-closeout contract administration.
Strong estimating, forecasting, change-control, negotiation and contractor-pricing skills; ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and familiarity with construction cost-management and project-controls systems.
Five or more years in quantity surveying, commercial management, cost management, estimating or construction contract administration preferred.
Large-scale industrial, advanced manufacturing, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, life-sciences, data-centre, battery-manufacturing or other mission-critical construction experience preferred.
Semiconductor fab experience is highly preferred. Exposure to major mechanical, electrical, process-utility or specialty-contractor packages is highly desirable; experience with every listed system is not required.
Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple packages and stakeholders.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Cost Management or a related discipline preferred.
Professional quantity-surveying, cost-management or construction credentials preferred, but not required.
