About the role

Introduction

A large-scale semiconductor and advanced manufacturing construction programme is seeking a Dry Mechanical Project Manager for an on-site contract opportunity in Lafayette, Indiana. This role is ideal for a field-focused mechanical construction leader with cleanroom HVAC, subfab, process support and utility infrastructure experience.

Role Responsibilities

The role will act as the dry mechanical discipline lead across construction execution, design coordination, installation oversight, mechanical completion, system walkdowns and turnover.

Lead dry mechanical installation across AHUs, RTUs, ductwork, exhaust, chilled water, hot water and supporting infrastructure

Coordinate cleanroom airflow, subfab routing, mechanical equipment placement and tool hook-up interfaces

Review mechanical specifications, construction details, contractor submittals, RFIs and design clarifications

Support model reviews, clash detection, constructability review and space coordination using BIM or 3D model platforms

Monitor construction progress, resolve field-level issues and drive schedule adherence

Support system walkdowns, TAB, commissioning, startup, punch lists and turnover documentation

Experience Requirements

5-10+ years' experience in mechanical construction for semiconductor fabs, high-tech manufacturing facilities or large-scale industrial projects

Deep knowledge of cleanroom HVAC, makeup air units, process exhaust, hydronic piping, chilled water systems and subfab mechanical systems

Experience coordinating with EPCM partners, design engineers, trade contractors and commissioning teams

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, one-line diagrams, BIM models and mechanical specifications

Proven ability to lead multi-trade coordination and drive field execution in fast-paced project environments

Strong organisation, communication, safety, quality and problem-solving capability

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, environmental or chemical engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred

Equivalent field experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
