About the role
Introduction
A major advanced manufacturing construction programme is seeking a Low Voltage and Controls Project Manager for an on-site contract opportunity in Lafayette, Indiana. This role is suited to a hands-on owner-side project leader with strength across automation, low-voltage, instrumentation, controls, IT/OT coordination and commissioning.
Role Responsibilities
The role will represent owner-side interests across design coordination, construction execution, quality, integration, commissioning and turnover of automation and low-voltage systems.
Manage automation, low-voltage and instrumentation/control scopes from design through turnover
Coordinate design teams, contractors, system integrators, commissioning teams, vendors and operations stakeholders
Review control narratives, network drawings, panel drawings, I/O lists, cable schedules, submittals, RFIs and turnover documentation
Track schedule progress, constraints, procurement readiness, field execution, commissioning windows and turnover requirements
Support PLC, SCADA, BAS, alarm management, historian, facilities monitoring and vendor interface activities
Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, process piping, process gas, chemical, life safety, security and tool-install teams
Experience Requirements
10-12+ years' experience in project management, automation, low-voltage, controls, instrumentation, commissioning or facilities engineering
Experience on semiconductor, pharmaceutical, battery, data centre, cleanroom, industrial manufacturing or mission-critical projects preferred
Strong understanding of BAS, PLC/SCADA, instrumentation, low-voltage systems, controls networks and system integration
Ability to read electrical drawings, controls drawings, P&IDs, network diagrams, panel drawings, I/O lists and specifications
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, ISA, IEEE, TIA/EIA, BICSI, UL 508A, IEC and IT/cybersecurity guidance
Experience with platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Emerson, AVEVA/Wonderware or Ignition is advantageous
Education Requirements
Relevant technical, engineering, construction management or controls qualification preferred
PMP, PE, ISA, CxA, BICSI, RCDD, OSHA 30 or related certification is advantageous
Equivalent practical experience in complex construction or facilities environments will be considered
