Introduction
A built-environment cost consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a client-facing cost management role across construction and built-environment projects. This opportunity suits a commercially sharp professional who can combine technical cost control, contract administration and stakeholder management while contributing to high-quality project delivery.
Role Responsibilities
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the delivery of cost management services from early estimates through tendering, post-contract administration and final commercial close-out. The role requires accuracy, judgement and the confidence to work with project teams, clients, consultants and contractors in a fast-moving environment.
Prepare budget estimates, cost plans, client reports and commercial forecasts
Support risk and value management across assigned project workstreams
Administer contract processes, including valuations, change control, cost reporting and meeting attendance
Prepare bills of quantities, schedules of rates and other work-evaluation documents
Provide procurement and contract advice, including tender preparation, evaluation and contractor selection support
Deliver accurate work outputs to agreed deadlines and quality standards
Support bid preparation, client relationship development and knowledge sharing across the team
Assist with mentoring, coaching and coordination of team members where required
Experience Requirements
5+ years' experience in quantity surveying, cost management or a closely related construction commercial role preferred
Strong pre-contract and post-contract cost management capability
Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters and standard forms of contract
Experience preparing estimates, cost plans, valuations, forecasts, tenders and contract documentation
Client-facing confidence, sound judgement and the ability to escalate issues appropriately
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and perform under deadline pressure
Leadership potential, including the ability to support, mentor or coordinate other team members
Education Requirements
Degree in construction, cost management, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related accredited discipline preferred
Equivalent practical experience in quantity surveying or cost management will be considered
